OUR FOUNDER
Sanjay Singh was born in a farmers’ family in the Jalaun district of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. He earned his Master’s in Social Service from Jivaji University, Gwalior and also obtained a diploma in agri-business from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow. He started social work in 1995 in the Chambal area of Bundelkhand at a time when he was ravaged by the dacoits. From this humble start, Parmarth is currently working in 10 districts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on water security and sustainability. Gandhian philosophy inspired him to be actively engaged in the social, economic and political upliftment through which he is tirelessly trying to bring about qualitative changes in the lives of the vulnerable and deprived sections of society. In the process he has received ample support from women & adolescents groups, youth, social activists, academicians, media functionaries, lawyers, researchers, change makers, students, political forces, panchayat members and other stakeholders.
